Stone of the Week: Selenite

Selenite is a powerful stone for cleansing the auric field of “congested energies”: these can be negativity of any kind; emotional residue from being around other people (especially useful for empaths); or whatever is no longer serving you.  In other words, it’s a great stone for those on their healing journeys who are working to clear patterns and emotions from which you’ve learned all you need and now can release.

As a stone of the Third Eye, Crown Chakra, and the higher Etheric Chakras, selenite aids in communion with Guides and Angels and your Higher Self as well as assisting with spiritual activation. 

In other words, selenite lends its energy to your work in expanding your awareness of the higher planes of existence, within and without.  As such, it focuses your clair-senses, particularly clairvoyance. 

I find selenite to be an excellent energy field buffer stone—it’s white light energy helps deflect lower vibration frequencies that can create a heaviness in one's auric field. This can manifest as lethargy, low-level anxiety, mild depression, and/or a general sort of malaise. 

Again, this is a great stone for those who easily pick up (consciously or not) low vibration energies from people and places because it cleanses and protects, simultaneously.

GEOLOGY

Selenite is a form of gypsum and is most commonly found in the US, Mexico, Greece, and Australia.  Natural colors are colorless/clear, white, gray, green, and golden brown.  It is a relatively soft stone and will disintegrate in water.
